We aim to provide a responsive and effective repairs service which gives you peace of mind. To help us achieve this, please report repairs as soon as possible so that we can keep your home in a good condition.
Emergency repairs To report an emergency repair at any time, including evenings and weekends please call 01284 767224 and select the relevant option.
Office Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8.30am to 5.30pm Friday: 8.30am to 5.00pm
When you report a repair, please provide:
- Full details of the problem
- A daytime telephone number
- Access information. i.e. days you’re available to complete the repair
Please note repairing obligations fall into two categories as follows:
- Tenant’s Responsibility
- Suffolk Housing’s Responsibility

|Drainage Repairs: up to the Water Authority’s responsibility||Drainage: unblocking sink and basin waste traps|
|Heating and hot water system||Operating and regulating temperature controls|
|Electrical Wiring||Faulty electrical appliances|
|Water supply:up to the Water Authority’s responsibility.||Plumbing to dishwashers|
|Window and door repairs including glazing||Lost or broken keys|
|Sanitary ware||Toilet seats and covers|
|Kitchen Repairs||Minor adjustments to cupboard handles and hinges|
|Kitchen and bathroom flooring repairs||Floor coverings excluding kitchen and bathrooms|
|Hard paved areas and steps||Replacement light bulbs and starter motor for fluorescent tubes|
|Fencing and gate repaired only||Decoration of fencing and external timber. (Permission required to decorate fencing and external timber)|
|External repairs||Internal DecorationIncluding minor plaster cracks|
Please note, we are not responsible for any damage not considered to be wear and tear. Rechargeable repairs are available on request at the discretion of Suffolk Housing.
