Skip Event/Rubbish Clearance 28 September 2018 – Dandalan Close

Following seeking tenant opinion on what would make the area a better place to live, rubbish management was the no 1 priority noted.

In response to this, Suffolk Housing arranged for 2 skips to be on site in the carparks at the scheme on the above day to allow tenants of ours whom live at Dandalan Close to dispose of unwanted items in  homes or garages, free of charge, as opposed to leaving it by/in the bin stores for me to have to arrange additional clearances.

This was the first event of its kind Suffolk Housing has run, and was a trial event.  If it becomes apparent we have underestimated the amount of skips needed, we would aim to look at a follow up event in 6 months time, thus reducing the amount of items left out and abandoned. If we have over estimated, a scaled down version would be considered.

We  also be carryied out a litter pick around the estate at 11am. Any resident who got involved in the litter pick was entered into a free prize draw to get their oven or microwave professional cleaned. Litter pickers and bags etc. were provided.

It is your valued feedback that gave rise to this event being put on at no extra cost to yourselves
