Suffolk Housing works with a range of other organisations to achieve its aims and objectives. In Developing new homes it works with Iceni Homes a development company that Suffolk Housing owns jointly with two other East Anglian housing associations, Colne and Hundred Houses. Working together like this has resulted in over 1000 new homes being built.
We also work in partnership with a range of Councils and Housing Associations in buying our maintenance services as cost effectively as possible. EP Ltd is a joint venture company of which Suffolk Housing with a number of partner organisations is a joint owner. Buying services together means better pricing and currently Suffolk Housing saves £125 per property per year by “procuring” maintenance together rather than alone. That amounts to about £260,000 per year. (For more information on how we remain efficient please look under the “Publications” section of our website for our latest “Value for Money” statement.)
Operating throughout East Anglia means that we need to share, knowledge resources and expertise with a range of other organisations. This includes, Parish, District, Town, City and County Councils as well as the Police. In central Government we work with the Regulator Of Social Housing (RSH). Not only does the RSH regulate how we operate but also invests money with us through the national Affordable Homes Programme to build new homes.
