The Society was formed in 1974 and is an industrial and provident society registered with charitable rule. We are also registered with the Housing Corporation.

We are controlled by a Board of Management made up of local people from a variety of backgrounds who give their time voluntarily.

We have a fully owned subsidiary company Linnet Homes which is a commercial company providing and managing market rent accommodation.

We are also an equal stakeholder in a joint venture development company Iceni Homes (www.icenihomes.com) who we use to develop all of our new homes.

Suffolk Housing Society is always looking for new members to join its Board. We welcome enquiries from anyone who has an interest in our work and who has something to offer be it a skill or expertise which is relevant to our business or simply enthusiasm. Board members give an average one day a month of their time for which travel expenses are paid.
