Tenants Voice

Tenants Voice voted in favour of splitting the committee into 4 different forums to make it more local and relevant to our Tenants.  The forums that were decided on are Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury, Ipswich and Thetford & Surrounding villages.  Our Sheltered Scheme Panel link in with Tenants Voice providing a voice for those residents.  The intention is to have all the area committees up and running by mid 2016, the first step was to introduce BSE and Ipswich.

Tenants voice come together quarterly to discuss issues raised by tenants and to look at things such as new policies or amending old ones.  We often have different members of staff attend if they are asked by the Chair and they are always open to questions and new ideas.  The Chairs from each forum will then have a separate meeting to bring together everything discussed at each of the meetings to ensure we are keeping our strong communication going.  Issues raised at Tenants Voice meetings are passed to the Resident Scrutiny Committee who may deal with them in a more formal way with Suffolk Housing.  (Please see the diagram on our community page to see how Tenants Voice links into our other committees).

At Suffolk Housing we know how important it is for residents to be involved in helping to shape their own homes and communities .  We have various positions on our Tenants Voice Committees; they are all listed below along with the members from our Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich Forums.
