Rent and charges

What if I cannot afford to pay my rent or charges?

In the first instance, contact Ian Dodds or Mary Moeser who will be able to advise you on the best course of action. The Citizens’ Advice Bureau may also be able to advise you. Further information on benefits that you may be able to claim can be found on the Turn2us website.

If you fall two months behind in your rent, we will serve a Notice of Seeking Possession. If this is ignored, we will have no choice but to start court proceedings.

I am on Housing Benefit and have been offered a new property - will that affect my benefit?

In some cases, you may be able to receive Housing Benefit on both properties, but only if you physically move into your new home the day your new tenancy begins. Contact Ian Dodds or Mary Moeser or the benefits section of your local council for more information.
