We build between 60 and 80 new affordable homes each year, this includes both rent and shared ownership housing.
We work closely with our development company
Iceni Homes, which we jointly own with
Colne Housing Society (Colchester) and
Hundred Houses Society (Cambridge). Iceni Homes finds suitable land and properties within Suffolk and carries out the development of those sites though to completion of the new homes.
We can get government grants from the
Homes and Communities Agency for some of the new homes through our membership of the
Key Communities partnership – this is a group of independent regional housing associations led by
bpha.
In 2001, we built the first new
hemp homes in the UK and we continue to try to be innovative in some of the new homes we build.
In addition to our development programme, we have a fully owned subsidiary company,
Linnet Property Management which is a commercial landlord providing property management services and managing market rent accommodation.
